How to Treat a Canker Sore With the Canker Sore Patch

Dhealthwellness.com – If you have a canker sore, you need to know how to treat it with the Canker Sore Patch. This patch helps to relieve pain associated with these infections and protects the mouth from irritants. It is a self-adhesive patch that you can put on the sore to keep it protected. The patch also contains Vitamin E to promote healing. It is easy to use and adheres to the sore very well.

Patch Use Not Suitable for Children

This patch contains 2.5 mg of menthol (a common oral pain reliever). It is made of hydroxypropyl cellulose and polyvinyl pyrrolidone. It also contains 55-65% post-consumer waste. It is not suitable for children. You should consult a doctor before using the patch. Canker Sore Patches are not intended for use in children younger than five years.

There are two types of canker sore patches. One is called Canker Cover Patch and is meant for adults and children over five years old. To apply this patch, you place a clean finger on the sore. It will then form a gel-like bandage around the sore. Once it has dissolved, you remove it with warm water. It should be applied up to three times per day, depending on the severity of the canker sore.

Has Antiseptic Properties and Can be used as a Mouthwash

A new over-the-counter canker sore patch claims to help patients recover from canker sores faster than previous treatments. Scientists presented their findings at the 85th general meeting of the International Association of Dental Research. These researchers studied 46 adults who had recurrent canker sores. In addition to the ingredients, the patch also contains licorice extract, which is believed to reduce inflammation. Patients were instructed to wear the patch for 16 hours a day but were not permitted to sleep while wearing it. Other patients were asked to stop using any other canker sore treatment until the patch showed results.

For external treatment, you can use salt water or baking soda to treat the ulcer. This remedy is considered safe by the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health. Alternatively, you can apply honey directly to the sore to help speed the healing process. Honey is known to have antiseptic properties and can be used as a mouthwash. While the patch is effective, it should not be used in the place of medicated mouthwash.

Topical Treatment for Thrush

Topical treatments for canker sores include medications and products that do not contain active ingredients. These may contain sucralfate, which is used as a coating agent, and colchicine, which is used to treat gout. Another treatment option for severe canker sores is oral steroid medications. These drugs have serious side effects. You should consult your doctor or healthcare provider if you have any questions or concerns about any of these treatments.

Topical pain medications, Gels such as benzocaine (Orajel, Orabase) and lidocaine (an anesthetic) are used directly on the canker sore to relieve pain or discomfort. Canker sore patches (Canker Cover) provide pain relief while covering and protecting the sore as it heals. These types of medications can be found over the counter.
